Looking for summer activities for your kids?  Tired of typical

sports camps?  Try out our unique Expedition Wachusett event!

Our Amazing Race-inspired event runs from 9:00AM to 4:00PM, 

highlighted by a race-to-the-summit event at Wachusett Mountain in

Princeton, MA.  After registration in Northborough, all participants

will receive a pre-event briefing that includes a safety talk, an

overview of the Expedition rules, and instruction on map-reading,

compass navigation, hiking and backcountry etiquette.

 

Teams will meet with their Team Leader and then complete a 

mini-challenge that sets the tone for the expedition, and tests

their navigation skills!

 

Once at the mountain, participants should expect to hike between 3-6 miles up, down and around the summit of Wachusett Mountain.  Teams will encounter along the way various challenges, both physical and mental, that will require teamwork, problem-solving and strong communication.  First team to the Summit wins the Expedition!

 

After all teams complete the adventure, individual teams gather to debrief on their experience.  Debriefing is a critical part of the adventure learning experience.  Finally, the entire group will reconvene for awards, and to share highlights and a few laughs.

Event Details

• $90/pp registration fee includes round-trip transportation (passenger van or bus),
  event and park fees, and snacks/water.

• Drop-off and pick-up will be at Ellsworth-McAfee Park, Rt. 135/South St. in Northborough.

• Participants should bring lunch and water, and should dress for action and appropriately
  for the weather.  Please apply sunscreen before coming!

• Register as a team (6 max) or as an individual.

• (Entering) 5th - 7th grades:  July 24

• (Entering) 7th - 9th grades:  July 22

• Family Edition:  July 28th

A minimum 10 participants are required to run this trip (except Family Edition).  Once a trip reaches capacity for one van (10), you may register for the WAIT LIST for that trip (no payment required).  If a wait list reaches 6 registrations, we will add a second van and additional staff so those participants may join the trip.
